Six Steps to Dance Success

You’ve registered for dance and your kid is beyond excited to bust a move, but now what?! Here are 6 steps to get ready for the new dance season and set your child up for success!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR – There are many important dates from Sept-June including studio closures, rehearsals and performances. Use the Key Dates Calendar to get organized and set aside these dates NOW before they sneak up on you!

GET YOUR DANCE GEAR – It is critical for dancers to have the correct clothes and footwear to dance their best in class. Just as you would with sports, dancers must come to class in proper attire- with correct shoes, hair up (back and secured). If your child is not properly dressed, they may be asked to sit out and observe for the duration of class. Dance clothes can be purchased at www.discountdance.com or at Dancer’s Image in Newton (mention The Dance Academy for a 10% discount at checkout). For a full list of all requirements, check out the dress code section of our website.

BE ON TIME- Punctuality matters at dance! Not only can missing warm up be harmful to a dancer’s body, but walking in late is uncomfortable for your child and distracting for his/her peers. Please aim to get your child here at least 5 minutes before class start time so they can start dance from a calm, prepared and happy mindset.

INVITE A FRIEND – Dance is even more fun when it is shared with a buddy. Attending with a familiar face can also help to ease first day jitters. Bonus – parents can carpool to save drive time!

BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE – There is nothing worse than pushing yourself to the limit learning some cool new choreo only to realize that you don’t have your water bottle. We are happy to provide dancers with water via our newly installed water bubbler but we do not supply cups so please MAKE SURE TO BRING A WATER BOTTLE and label it so it can be returned to you if left behind.

COMMUNICATE – We are here for you! If you ever have a question or concern, please call our office at 617-614-5438 or email erica@siagel.com so we can help you. We use email and social media to communicate important info so please make sure we have and updated email on file at all times and be sure to follow us on social media.

i love dancing i really do. most of the time my friends and i try to join popular dance crew but they always rejected us mainly because they said our dance step is not good enough. after all our effort, we decided to create our own dance crew. we did and we eventually competed against top dance crew although we could not win but we tried our best and we got third place. This content is no doubt very engaging. I am going to bookmark your blog and keep checking it weekly to read more contents like this. Open this link to reach my website and check out its contents.
