Welcome to The Dance Academy! My name is Abigail Fine, and I am the Director of The Dance Academy of Siagel Productions. While last year we taught over 350 dancers in 12 disciplines, this year we are proud to announce that we have over 550 students. This year we are offering over 100 hours of dance and movement classes to children and adults of all ages in our three state of the art studios. We added a brand new third studio last summer. Our school opens in September and culminates with an exciting recital in June; a few weeks longer than most studios because our kids love to dance! And for those who wish to continue dancing, we offer summer programs and camps in July and August.
This
year we are welcoming new teachers and master instructors to give
special classes on the weekends. We are extremely proud of our staff.
They dedicate their lives to dance, continuously attending master
classes and workshops in order to maintain the highest level of dance
instruction for our students. Their commitment is demonstrated in their
dancing and teaching ability and this directly correlates to the
students’ experience. We currently have 12 professional dance
instructors. Our phenomenal teachers not only teach the art of dance,
but they also; perform in professional companies; dance/perform on
tours with famous celebrity artists; and are working as choreographers
on MTV shows and videos. Our teachers are also models, athletes and
actors. Children who attend The Dance Academy, leave each day having
learned about posture, balance, dynamic movement, locomotion, shapes in
the body, and overall self-confidence. We encourage our dancers to work
their hardest and achieve their personal best.
The
Dance Academy is not your typical dance studio. Our primary focus is
inspiring and educating each child in a fun yet structured manor. We
allow each child to be his or her own individual shining star with
style and personality. We teach and encourage children to break down
difficult moves, to ask questions and to provide feedback on how their
bodies feel.
Each instructor reinforces the basics of dance
and music theory by encouraging our dancers to listen to the music and
learn how to feel the beat. With the older dancers, we stress the
importance of performance and emotion by teaching basic acting skills
and techniques. Their dancing becomes a performance, not just movement.
Most importantly, we provide a warm and friendly atmosphere that
becomes a platform for building life long friendships and improving
self-esteem.
Our dress code is simple, all black. Your child can dress wearing a
leotard and tights, Capri's and tanks, t-shirt and dance pants,
whatever he/she is most comfortable in. Hip Hop is a bit more relaxed
with a bit more baggy clothing, hats, bandanas, etc. Ballet, Lyrical
and Acrobatics classes requires a black leotard and black tights or
tight dance pants. We believe that if a dancer dresses the part they
will achieve higher success and in turn this will raise their
confidence.
The Dance Academy classes include; Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics,
Lyrical, Hip Hop Team's, Jazz Team's, Street Dance Team, Creative
Movement, Break Dance, Street Dance, Baton Twirling, and Ballet. We
teach private and semi-private lessons and offer master classes all
year long. As our NEW site is being completed please feel free to
